Pelvic Floor Therapy
That Treats the Whole Body

The pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation—and neither do we. Our integrative pelvic floor physical therapy considers how breath, core coordination, movement habits, and daily demands influence symptoms, helping you build durable change that carries into daily life.

What Is Pelvic Floor Therapy?

Pelvic floor therapy focuses on how the muscles, connective tissue, and nervous system of the pelvis work together to support movement, breathing, continence, and core coordination. At Embody, pelvic floor physical therapy is never limited to one area or one symptom—we look at how the pelvic floor responds within the context of your whole body.

Rather than isolating muscles or defaulting to kegels, we assess how breathing patterns, posture, load, and daily movement demands influence pelvic floor function. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, guided movement, breath work, and progressive strength—always tailored to how your body actually uses the pelvic floor in real life.

Our goal is not just symptom improvement, but helping you understand why symptoms developed and how to support long-term function moving forward.

The Embody Method for Pelvic Floor Therapy Means:

A whole-system approach
We consider how the pelvic floor interacts with the spine, hips, core, and nervous system, because lasting change depends on how everything works together.

Education you can actually use
You’ll understand what your pelvic floor is doing, what it needs, and how to apply that understanding outside the clinic.

Direct access and flexible scheduling
You can work directly with your physical therapist without referral delays (except Medicare), with scheduling that fits real life.

Longer, one-on-one sessions
Appointments are 40–60 minutes, allowing time to assess movement, breathing, and coordination—not just address symptoms.

Individualized treatment—not protocols
Your care is based on your history, goals, and daily demands, not a standardized pelvic floor checklist.

Not Just Pelvic Floor Symptoms.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum changes, or dealing with pelvic floor symptoms that have been lingering for years, our approach is the same: understand the system, address the contributors, and build function that lasts.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Pregnancy and childbirth place real demands on the pelvic floor—but symptoms aren’t something you have to “just live with.” We support strength, coordination, and recovery before and after birth, helping your body adapt to changing demands and return to movement with confidence.

Persistent Pelvic Floor Symptoms

Pelvic pain, pressure, leakage, or discomfort that’s been present for months or years often reflects underlying coordination or load-management issues. We look beyond isolated muscles to understand why symptoms persist and address the patterns keeping them in place.

Pelvic Floor Support for Sport & Performance

The pelvic floor plays a key role in force transfer, breathing, and load management during running, lifting, jumping, and high-intensity training. When coordination is off, symptoms often show up during performance—not just daily life. We help athletes and active individuals build pelvic floor capacity that supports training, competition, and long-term performance.

"I have done PT in the past and so I had some idea of what to expect. Working with Christopher, however, exceeded my expectations. He spends a lot of time with his patients. Having this quality time with a health care professional is unheard of these days. Christopher also has the talent to really listen to his patients. He not only hears you, taking the time to listen to the challenges you may be facing, but he genuinely sees who you are as a whole person."
